Deuteronomy 1:7 – God is saying to the church right now that it is time to break camp and advance.
The church needs to know that Jesus can fight her but it is a comforting thing when God says “I know you”. Not everything that we have received in the past was accurate. Many of us have acquired Christianity as a religion. However, we need to understand that Jesus did not come to earth and died to generate religion but to re-engineer the cosmos. There are two creations in the universe, the world that presently exists and the world that was in the beginning. The beginning is not a time, it is a person. The truth of the gospel does not have to be mystical, all we need is to have a good grasp of the reality of the gospel.
God is ‘daddy’ and when we talk about him, it should not be as with someone who is far away but as someone who is our origin. We are not His sons in a Christian sense but in a genetic biological sense. Therefore, it is impossible for God to bring forth an ordinary human being. He ‘went into labour’ to bring forth beings like him. Your identity defines what you are and what you can do.
If you are alive today, you are living in one of the most interesting time of human history. It is true that we are gods but the present question is what kind of gods are we going to be? The church is not a religious group waiting for rapture to happen. 1 Corinthians 10:11 – We are all on a journey towards the promise land. That promise land is not just a place filled with milk and honey, it is the rest that God has promised.
Christ is the only visible expression of God. Without Jesus we cannot see God. If God does not come forth, nobody can see Him. Man has no way to find God except he reveals himself. Anytime you see God, He came. To understand something you need to go round it, but you cannot go round God. Therefore, only Jesus can give us an understanding of God. Jesus can articulate all that God is, he can accommodate God and so can reveal God to us. Our calling as sons is to also to articulate God. We are mirrors that should express God’s life.
Israel is a reflection of the church in the New Testament. Presently, we are the house of God, there is no temple that will be built that God will live in. We are the living stones, so we are the ones that needs to be built and maintained. When there is no conflict, we tend to live a natural life so God allows difficulties in our lives. And each time we go through those things, we become better. Every time battles are fought and won we bring back spoils. Therefore, our approach to things that happen in our lives must be different.
Amos 9:11, 1 Timothy 6:12
We live at a time where in order for the church to move forward, we must fight. There are many metaphorical expressions of the church. The church has been described as a building, God’s vineyard and the bride. It is a painful thing when the church is unable to respond to the demand of the present day.
