The Word Of Life

PASTOR AYO JEJE

JOHN 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”;

I JOHN 5:7: “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.”

Jesus is the Word of Life. He does not just have the word of life, He is the Word of Life. There is a place in God that embodies divine purposes and that is Jesus. The Word embodies the whole idea of the Godhead. He is the embodiment of the intents of the Godhead. The Father is the Progenitor. The Son is the Custodian. The Spirit is the Executor of all of God’s intents and purposes. Our eventual destination as believers is to be absorbed into the Godhead. Our training is not just supposed to take us into somewhere beautiful but to take us out of being man and to attain unto Sonship.

For man to come into the Godhead, the Godhead will have to first come into him and empty him of his humanness. Jesus is a prototype of the kind of harvest God is expecting; the harvest of Sons. Jesus is the Christ. He is the Anointed One. If we cannot relate with Him as Christ, we cannot bring to bear the plan of the Godhead. Jesus is the Everlasting Father, He is the generator of immortality.

Jesus was the Word from the beginning and He is still the Word. He became flesh to provide a template for absorbing man into Divinity. He became Son so that He can be the first among many brethren. Abraham rejoiced when he had a glimpse of the coming of Jesus. God used Abraham to set up a template for Sonship. God can use our circumstances to take us closer and closer to His plans. Things don’t just happen for fun, they are always to accomplish God’s intentions.

HEBREWS 1:1-4: “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself[a] purged our[b] sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”;

Jesus became all things so that we can be like Him. He was made better than angels so that we can be better than angels. He became the express image of the Father so that we can be conformed to the Father’s image. God is inviting man into the Godhead. He does that by speaking to us by His Son. The speaking of God in the Old Order is about the New Order. The New and Last Order is all about Sonship. Everything God speaks crystallizes into the Son.

At the Mount of Transfiguration, God brought together Moses and Elijah which represent two key dimensions of God’s operations-the Law and the Prophets. However, God announced Jesus as His Beloved Son showing that the end point of the Law and the Prophets is the Person of Jesus.

There is a progressive revelation of Jesus. He is Saviour; He saves us from things that can bog us down. He is also Lord; He wants to be the one who dictates our every step. More so, He is the Word that defines everything God stands for. It’s a mystery to follow Jesus. You cannot follow Him in the flesh. If you follow Him with common sense you will miss Him. We cannot unite with God in the flesh because the flesh will always meet its limit. Everything that is born of man has a limit. We can only follow Him with the conviction of our hearts. Loving God is not lip service. It places huge demands on us. We will always get to points where what we know about God will be challenged. If care is not taken, we can lose focus and turn our back on Him.

The advent of Jesus brings us to the execution of the Divine Order. The Father God had to be birthed in our order so that we can be birthed in His own order. He became man so that we man can become God. God is moving from creation into a place where he can absorb us into Himself.
