The Rules of Prayer

12TH JUNE 2022

Minister: Pastor Seyi Osanyinbi

Have you ever wondered why we have problems in the church along the line of prayers? How come God does not answer our prayers just the way we thought He would? Why is God not quick to give answers to our prayers? Why do we not get the answers we desire?
It may just be because we really do not understand the rules of prayer. Both spiritual and physical worlds are predicated on rules and we need to keep abreast of these rules in order to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Luke 18:1-2,7-8, Luke 11:5-8
Many people faint because they do not have answers to their prayers. When God sits as Judge, He acts differently from when He acts as Father. We must know how to engage situations the right way because there are some challenges that do not respond to petitions but to declarations. We are to enforce and activate the promises and truths that we have in Christ in the place of prayer (Mark 11:23).
Like Elijah the Tishbite who made declarations to set things in order in his time, it is our responsibility to stand in God’s presence and find out from Him what He would have us do in every situation.
Matthew 5:22-25
When two people are at loggerheads, there are usually controlling spirits in the background stoking the fire. Satan is always looking for ways to accuse us before God but Jesus’ blood helps to purge our sins so that his accusations are rendered useless. We thus need to know how to plead the blood of Jesus over situations so that the devil will not have grounds of accusation against us.
Hebrews 4:16
We must understand that the prince of this world has been judged, so there is nothing to fear. We need to be able to approach God with boldness; we go to God as we recognize that we have needs so He can show us mercy and give us grace that can deliver help to us.
When we come before God, we need an understanding of His word and how it works. In court, you must marshal your points correctly. You must know God’s promises about your matter so when you come before Him, you can speak with precision and accuracy.
Before God the Judge, the person with better demands and reasons wins the day. We must know how to efficiently bring our points before Him through accurate knowledge.
