PASTOR BOLA BELLO
There are many infirmities that we should have overcome, yet we see ourselves hustling and struggling with them. There is no controversy about the fact that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. However, this is not explained in the cloth we wear, the car we drive; it is as a result of the Faith of the Son of God
ROMANS 3:30; 21
No man can be justified through the law; the best the law can achieve is to bring man to the awareness of sin. The righteousness of God which is manifest is also witnessed by the law. If righteousness is not imputed by the law, why is this same righteousness witnessed by the law? The end of the law is Christ, hence this law that witness righteousness is Christ Himself. This righteousness does not forbid us from obeying the law, rather, it brings us into the fulfilment of the righteous requirements of the law (Romans 8:4).
I PETER 2:24:
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
We are killed daily until we become whole and complete in Christ. The Holiness we enjoy now is a shadow of our final state (For we know not what we shall be like but we know that when He shall appear we shall be like Him). This state is not meant to be attained at death, it can be attained right here on earth. We just need to believe it.
ISAIAH 14:17
“ That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? ”
The race before us cannot be completed by the strength of man; it requires the Grace of God. Man in the image of God does not connote bodily resemblance but resemblance in communion and interest. It is a resemblance in configuration. The accuser’s aim is to make man a mere carcass, to make him less than what God defines them to be.
ISAIAH 14:26-28:
“This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. 27 For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back? 28 In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden. ”
God’s purpose is to break yokes, this is why Christ came to die for mankind. This is not a case to be done in the future, it is what Christ has accomplished before the foundations of the world. By his stripes we were healed.
ROMANS 8:2:
“ For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. ”
The law of sin and death only has permission to operate in them who have not come to believe Christ. The law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus places us above the law of sin and death, it imprints the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus on our souls. This law eradicates condemnation in a believer. The more we hear of and from God, the more we become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Faith comes by hearing.
ROMANS 1:16:
“ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
The Gospel of Christ is not the same with the gospel of Jesus of Nazareth. The Gospel of Christ is that which brings man to justification before God.
I PETER 1:14-16
“As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
The word ‘BE’ is a command and a continuous thing, it’s a gradual and a daily movement, that which we are to continue until the redemption of the purchased possession. Abraham was a man that believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. He obeyed God all through the way. People won’t see God is as a result of their disobedience to the Faith.
I PETER 1:13:
“ Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;”
We are just scratching the face of this gospel, there is a Grace which is still coming to us at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
EPHESIANS 1:13:
“ In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, ”
Holy Spirit is the seal of our righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. With this we are assured that there is great hope for us. We just need to be diligent unto the assurance of hope unto the end (Hebrews 6:11).
