THE POWER OF THE KINGDOM

Hands closed in prayer on an open bible

God’s power is available but how much of the power we experience is determined by us. The power of the kingdom has been available since the beginning and we have seen the manifestations of God’s power in different dimensions. We can’t step into the greater works promised us without the power of the kingdom.

The following are tips for experiencing more of God’s power:

  1. Know God; His nature and will
  2. Have an expectation or desire
  3. Align yourself through study, prayer, fasting and also recognising opportunities and stepping out.

Daniel, Elijah, Deborah and Esther are men who demonstrated the power of the kingdom while they lived and stood for God’s will in their days.

Daniel started with fasting and praying. He was a man who studied the word. We also need to read to know what God has said concerning us.

Elijah was a man known for prayers. He prayed and publicly made a declaration that by his word it would not rain (1 Kings 17:17-24). Having prayed for many things before, praying for the widow’s son was not a new thing to him.

Deborah (Judges 4:1) was a woman who stood in God’s counsel in her days. She was relevant in her days and led her nation to war. She was not limited in her demonstration of God’s power because she was a wife. She was a wife and yet she lived and life of influence.

Esther was willing to die, hence she declared “if I perish I perish”. There are times the Lord may require us to do things that do not fit our status. We might be required to do things that seem to put us in danger. We must be ready to dare to operate based on the instructions of the Spirit, no matter the cost.

Operating in the power of the Kingdom requires actions. To experience God’s power, we have to fast, study, pray, watch. I recommend that people fast and pray twice a week; speak in tongues at least thirty minutes daily; read at least ten chapters of the Bible daily; pray for people; witness to people every time.
