HARVESTS IN IMPOSSIBLE PLACES
Many of us believe that certain people are unreachable. However, we must always have it etched on our minds that nobody is too difficult for God to harvest. He has saved emperors, princes and other wise men of the world in the past and he can still do so much more today. Daniel and his company are very good examples of people that influenced unthinkable places for God.
DANIEL 1: In Babylon, Daniel and his friends stood out in their endeavours and they were recruited to serve in the King’s court. They took their godly influence into the palace. We must carry our identity everywhere we go so that we can bring people into God’s kingdom wherever we find ourselves. We cannot bring in the harvest if we are mediocre. We have to be excellent in every of our undertakings so that we can have leverage to bring in the harvest.
DANIEL 2: King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream. Interestingly, he did not remember the dream talk less of coming up with the interpretation. All the diviners and sages of Babylon could not even do as little as cooking up the dream. Daniel stepped on the scene, reminded the king of his dream and he even went ahead to give the meaning. The king was so thrilled that he went as far as worshipping Daniel. Daniel knew better not to put himself in the place of God. You can’t afford to accept the worship due to God when he uses you to do great things. That attitude will terminate several harvests that lie ahead. Daniel got a kind of harvest when he got promoted and he used the platform for greater harvests for God. He used the opportunity to expand his godly company in the Babylonian government by recommending the elevation of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (The Three Hebrews). We cannot be effective in the harvest as lone rangers. We must not dissociate ourselves from the God that promotes us and His people when we get promoted.
DANIEL 3: The Three Hebrews had their test. Nebuchadnezzar made an image and required all his subjects to worship it but this threesome was ready to die for what they believed. We will not be effective in the harvest if we do not come to a place where we do not love our lives even to the point of death. The Three Hebrews were ready to die for the cause of God and they created a lasting impression on the king. The king had to make a decree that elevated the Almighty God among the nations. What a mighty harvest that was! Instead of dying, these three people were promoted. People that are ready to die for God’s sake have nothing to lose, they have everything to gain.
DANIEL 4: The combined effects of Nebuchadnezzar’s experiences with Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego put him in a sober mood. He began to reverence the King of kings. He referred to God as the High God who is full of signs and wonders and whose dominion is forever. He honoured and extolled the God of Heaven.
DANIEL 5: Belshazzar succeeded his father Nebuchadnezzar but he had not encountered Daniel’s God. In his foolishness, he was a riotous king wining, dining and womanizing. While in his usual festive mood one day, he saw a strange writing on the wall that almost froze him to death. No one could decode the writing, so an opportunity was created for Daniel to manifest once again. Daniel interpreted the writing and became Third in Command to the King. He had the opportunity of establishing God’s righteous rule thereby helping the harvest. The world will definitely run into troubles and we the children of light will have great opportunities to reap harvests for God and we will be promoted thereby.
DANIEL 6: Under Darius’ rule, Daniel remained prominent but uncompromising. Some other noble people, looking for a way to shut him down, set him up and he ended up in a lion’s den. God saved him miraculously and Darius made a decree compelling everybody under his rule to tremble before Daniel’s God. What a great harvest!
Daniel operated under four kings that literally controlled the affairs of the world and he maintained his stand for God all the way. In the same vein, we can harvest impossible places for God!
