The Harvest (Day 2: Morning Session I)

PASTOR BOLA BELLO

GENESIS 1:28:“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”;

JOHN 4:38:“I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.”;

GALATIANS 6:9: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

We can’t talk about harvest without talking about rightness. Rightness talks about maturity. We must all come to maturity being dexterous with the truth. Harvest is about fruitfulness. It is about coming to the place of abundance and surplus. God is the first apostle of the Harvest. God wants us to be fruitful and multiply. He wants us to be ‘harvestful’-to be full of harvest. He wants us to come into the harvest of others. He also wants us to come into the harvest of the seeds we have sown.

Every action we take, every move we make amounts to seed sowing. As we mature, we need to learn the principles of seed sowing so that we can enter into harvests that are necessary for us from season to season. As we enter other people’s harvests, we must also learn to labour so that others can benefit from the attendant harvests. Harvest is not time bound. Harvest is progressive. When a child is born, he enters into harvest by enjoying the treasures that have been laid up by his parents. As he grows up, He gets to a point where he begins to sow seeds that will bring forth harvests that others will enjoy. Harvest is about awakening, quickening and restitution. Harvest is for the profiting of all (John 12:7).

JOHN 12:24-25: ” Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.;

REVELATION 12:7: And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,”;

JOHN 10:3:  To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.”

The Harvest of the Lamb and the King

A single corn of wheat is highly insignificant, it is near useless and unprofitable on its own. However, when it is sown, it brings forth much fruit. Going into the ground and dying is very difficult but it is necessary if much harvest is desired. Jesus came as a lamb who had to die in order to harvest many sons unto glory. Lucifer sowed seeds of rebellion in some angels in heaven and that led to him being thrown down. He was demoted from his enviable position in heaven because he was not contented with his estate. Jesus has sent us forth as lambs among wolves. We can’t confront wolves if we are not ready to die. The reason why we have not come into great harvests in the Church is because we are afraid of death. Every saint that enjoyed great harvests did it at the risk of losing their lives. We must be ready to lay down our lives as lamb sacrifices so that we can come into the harvest.
