PASTOR JIDE OGUNDANA
God used the physical Israel to roll out His master plan for us all to see. Looking at Israel, we can learn many things about God. Everything about Israel is a revelation. The children of Israel were separated unto God and God dealt with them in a spectacular manner. The feasts observed in Israel are all significant to us as New Testament believers. Some of the feasts are Passover, Pentecost and the feast of Tabernacles. Our journey in Christ as people of God show that we have undergone Passover, coming out of the world into Christ which is the new birth. However, quite a lot of people who partook of the Passover have not taken part in the feast of Pentecost.
LEVITICUS 23:15,21(KJ V): “15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.”;
Joel 2:28-29(KJV): “28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
EPHESIANS 5:18(KJV) : “18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”
ACT 2:4(KJV): “4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

All the things God has for us, He has revealed through the Old Testament Israel. The first Pentecost the Israelites had was in the book of Exodus 19. The New Testament manifestation of Pentecost happened in the book of Acts 2. The manifestation of Pentecost to us in our days as believer is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is about us partaking of the Holy Spirit. Without fully partaking in it, we will not be able to get into the feast of the Tabernacles. The essence of Pentecost is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Neglecting this aspect of our journey will not make our journey smooth as Christians. What will make us grounded in signs and wonders is the feast of Pentecost.
Pentecost signifies the coming of the Holy Spirit to indwell believers. It is the first harvest of the Church. It is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit. There are wars we are going to fight in days ahead, but it is going to be by the Spirit. Even gentiles that believe in Jesus have part in this Baptism. The feast of Pentecost is still manifest among us and we shouldn’t neglect it.
