Compromise is when you lower the standards of God or adjust it to suit you. The greatest sin of Israel was compromise; the desire to be like other nations. Envying the unbeliever is a problem. It takes a lot of effort, which is a product of grace, to decide in your heart not to copy unbelievers. When you compromise your belief system you make God a liar.
God does not want us to love the world. We shouldn’t have any reason to come to an agreement with unbelievers because at we would have to lower our value system at some point. Our body is a recipient of spirits, if we allow ourselves to compromise then we receive strange spirits. Compromise comes in different ways. It can make us deny God because of our selfish interests. We don’t have to sell our birth right because of our wants.
Compromise is cheaper and faster and can even achieve a seemingly good result without people noticing. Satan wanted Jesus to take a short cut in order to attain God’s glory. Let us be careful about the things we hold on to. We are entering a time when our character will be tested and we need internal strength not to compromise. We must make up our minds not to go into certain directions. We should always take our stand even if there’s a price to pay. We should use every opportunity to build ourselves in our most holy faith.
