THE CRITICAL SPIRIT

PASTOR DELE OLUBI

When Jesus cursed the fig tree, the effect was instantaneous. We must learn not to push the answers to our prayers into the future, they can actually be instantaneous. Manifestations are needed on earth not in heaven. We must get used to the supernatural right here. Man’s glory is in his ability to receive authority from heaven to command things and situations on earth. God is in us and also through us. We sometimes, down think the work of God through us.

Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.”

Psalms 28:5

We can get into the rut of trivializing the supernatural workings of God in our lives under the garb of spirituality. Many a time, we feel that we have the full syllabus of the plans of God. We feel that we understand Him so much that we begin to work against Him. Often times we can be caught in the trap of not appreciating the operations of God’s hand and not know. Trivializing the acts and works of God in our lives is a very wrong attitude to live with.

God began with Moses on the basis with signs and wonders. There are certain people we would not win into God’s kingdom if we try to approach them with revelational teachings. There are also certain positions our hearts can be that we could begin to fight the works of God. In fact, we have this tendency to criticize things we don’t really understand.

But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;”

2 Peter 2:10-12

None of us as Gentiles could have had access to some packages. The things we do not appreciate we cannot get. Some requests for the gifts of the Spirit or ability to operate in the Spiritual do not even respond to prayers, they respond to honour and our ability to appreciate God’s former works.

There is a mode that we are coming into that if we don’t shake it, we would begin to lose memory and track of the ways of God. We may say that Jesus did not come primarily to solve our problems.

Any gospel we cannot preach to the market women and welders in the street, is not original. Our mind can speak English, yet our spirits can communicate with their spirit. The gospel is not meant to restricted to languages or calibers of people.

Some of us have this belief that it is the gifts of the Spirit is causing the carnality of the Corinthian church. We should begin to seek understanding for different things we experience as believers. We must also never get to a height where we abandon the building blocks that God used to take us to that height. It is a sign of immaturity to talk down on the very elementary principles based on which we are raised.

Jesus did not birth an ordinary church, our lives are more than congregating together. Jesus did not even leave us with buildings, he left power for the Church. We should be a generation who will be taught and want to understand. The world must see something about us. We must learn to discern between truth and falsehood. In addition, we must learn to pick relevant ideas from materials (books, messages, etc.) we interact with.

And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.”

Christianity is not meant for the elites. We are beginning to lack preachers who can communicate to our spirits, rather they excite our minds. Somehow also, our minds have been wired due to experiences and past encounters to automatic filter the instructions of God and we pick the ones that soothe our line of reasoning.
