Text: Isaiah 43:15-21
God is not a God of the past. This is why He does not require us to keep dwelling on our past. Yet, He requires us to be acquainted with His past deeds. In the text above, He described Himself as the one who makes a way in the sea and a path in the mighty waters. God’s historic past will push us forward in our journey with Him. Being conversant with God’s historic past will solidify our faith such that even when God does certain things in our lives and there seem to be no history to back them up, our faith remains strong. Abraham might look like superman, but chances are that Holy Spirit must have revealed some of the doings of God to him.
Painfully, today, we no longer envisage miracles of God. We have become too fixated on the miracles in the Acts of Apostles that they have hindered us from believing God for more. Whereas, yesterday’s revelation is not sufficient for today. It is important that we daily learn to follow the promptings of the Spirit.
John 14:13-14
God through Christ has given us the privilege to ask whatever we want in the name of Jesus and it will be done. This means even if we conceptualize a thing and it has never existed, to glorify Himself, God will create it. Little wonder Romans 4:17 mentioned that God calls forth those things that be not as though they exist. In other words, as long as we can conceptualize it, God will provide it. You and I should then, ask ourselves how strong our desire is and how deep our faith is. Nothing is beyond God. Whatever comes our way, victory is assured. Just give it a name and challenge it through the name of Jesus.
