MINISTERS’ SUMMIT: THE TESTIMONY OF LIGHT

John started his gospel from a perspective different from what we have had previously. He came on the scene and went beyond the beginning. John went to where God began and saw that at the beginning, the Word existed with God.
There are two kinds of creation, the visible and invisible. The making of creations was by the Word. The trinity operated together as one. In the creation of the universe both invisible and visible, God conceived it, the Word picked that thought and spoke it, then, the Spirit moved to do it exactly as it is conceived in the thoughts of God.
The life and Light of the Word was supposed to be given to man. Light had even existed before Lucifer fell. Lucifer was a bearer of Light and he had access to the thoughts of God. The thoughts of God are stored in the Word. But when Lucifer stopped standing in God’s presence he was cut off from the Light.
Light speaks of knowledge. There is more to Light than seeing, by Light we are supposed to make decisions. It is decisions being made that determines destination. Spiritual darkness and Light can co-exist. When the earth was without form and darkness was upon it, God unleashed Light upon it, not that he created it.
Light comes into government when we begin to talk about the Word being the Light. Faithful witnessing is a governmental thing. John was prepared with the specific orders he received to bear witness of Jesus. Others who came before John had a glimpse of Light but they were not sent to bear witness.
It is very important that whosoever would bear the witness must go through the kind of training John went through, although, it was inconvenient but God did this so that His teachings won’t be compromised. Nowadays, the Church have been so busy with so many things that has nothing to do with God’s program. The Jews talked about the coming of the messiah, but when he eventually came, they did not accept him.
You cannot be a witness until you have acquired what it takes to testify. John did not know Jesus Christ by just revelation he was trained to recognize Light. If you are going to be a witness it required serious training. Peter had a revelation but he didn’t have the stature so he denied Him, but John for thirty years was raised into such stature as to bear witness of Him. The assignment of witnessing is bigger than the witness. To be a faithful witness, God need to show us mercy.
The reason for inefficient evangelism is that we have not been experts in the witnessing. People have been speaking theories, more of what they don’t do. We have not yet been raised. It is more than preaching, you need to have something within you before you speak. John was in the wilderness for years without resisting the dealings of God. We need to be witnesses of Light. God wants to prepare us as vessel of honor. Let the Lord build you up and do his work in you as he took time to prepare John.
