Text: Proverbs 22:17-21

It is possible to be a follower of Christ yet lack in-depth knowledge of Him. Knowledge is essential for life. Thus, in everything, it is important that we apply our hearts to knowledge. From the story of the fall in Genesis 3, you would wonder how Adam and Eve knew they were to make aprons and how to make them. Knowledge influences decisions, either good or evil. After they had been deceived, they knew what to do. The knowledge of their nakedness moved them to the decision to make coverings for themselves.

Daniel 9:1-2

Knowledge comes from information and it influences how we respond to issues, even unconsciously. Hence, we must continuously renew our minds, because we make decisions and respond to matters based on the knowledge we have. Ignorance is a disease that can destroy.

2 Peter 1:1-8

The knowledge of God should be the foundation every knowledge we have. The more of God we know, the more of God we will enjoy. The enemy takes advantage of us when we do not know what God has done for us through Christ. When we do not know, we do not maximize what has been given to us.

We should be temperate no matter the level of knowledge we have acquired. The knowledge of God and other things we have should not make us puff up. Without knowledge and the other ingredients, we will be unfruitful.

Seek knowledge to find out matters; do not just assume it is God dealing with you. Get an understanding about happenings. When you notice things are unusual around you, find out what is happening spiritually.

You cannot exercise the power of God if you lack knowledge. Knowledge influences perception. Students learn through research. Going by the common statement “know something about everything and know everything about something”, do not be ignorant; seek understanding. You must know that if you do not fear the Lord you definitely cannot know the Lord.
