HOW TO CORRECT WITHOUT OFFENCE

PASTOR OLUWASEYI OSANYINBI

Jesus pays no attention to insincerity. He is not frivolous. We throw so many opportunities away by our carelessness. We need God’s mercy to really surrender after singing ‘I surrender all’.

MATTHEW 7:1; ROMANS 2:1-4

You have no right to judge someone of if you are doing the same thing with the person. If you must talk justice you must come with clean hands. We must always pay attention to ourselves first of all in all matters. People vacillate between two extremes: Faultfinding and Men pleasing. Fault finders are always on the lookout for things that are not right and they do that to a fault. Men pleasers claim to think no evil; see no evil and speak no evil. We must find a place of balance where we speak when we should speak and keep quiet when we should keep quiet. We must not encourage gossips and backbiting in the church. We should be matured enough to handle our issues. We must correct ourselves in love not allowing any root of bitterness to fester among us.We must careful not to constitute a stumbling block or an occasion for falling on the paths of our brethren (John 14:13).

REVELATION 2:18-23; ROMANS 1:32

The Thyatira Church permitted the operations of the false Prophetess Jezebel. She made God’s people stumble and so she was severely judged. It is not enough to run away from evil, we must ensure that we do not support those who do evil under any guise at all. We need accurate judging capacity so that we can actually place our fingers on that which is right or wrong.

ROMANS 2:7

We cannot permit unleavened bread in our midst because we are looking forward to eternal life. Patient endurance is an essential commodity in our pursuit. We must live our lives such that we are accountable for ourselves. We are in the business of soul winning and we must do everything under God to make sure that nobody goes to hell under our watches (Proverbs 11:30).We have the responsibility to honour God in all that we do. We need to honour God in being our brothers’ keepers. We must be able to know what our brethren are going through with the intention of saving rather than ridiculing them.

God has invested so much in His relationship with us so that we can turn out perfectly right. We keep getting corrected by His Word until we get right.
