Text: Hebrews 12:14
If our expectation is truly to see the Lord, then it is important to give more attention to living a life of holiness. God is above all, He has the final say over every matter or situation of our lives. It is therefore pertinent for us to be conscious of His demand for holiness. Humans can advance in technology and change the concept of living but the word of God is steadfast, it cannot change.
Exodus 19:6
The rules and commandments God gave were to separate us from the world, they were given so as to keep us in the sphere of Holiness. God deliberately constrains us so that we can live and fulfill that which he has called us to. Worldliness is a spirit, if permitted; it will kill the seed of holiness in us. Sanctification and separation are designed to keep us holy (Exodus 22:31, Leviticus 11:44).
Ezra 9:2
One of the reasons God punished the Israelites was because they mixed sin with holiness against God’s specific instructions. Holiness is about staying true to every instruction God has given unto us.
One of the major descriptions of the Spirit of God is ‘Holy’ and one of the things the Spirit comes to give and impart to us is the power to be Holy. Having this consciousness, we must endeavour to live holy lives and never entangle ourselves with unbelievers.
2 Corinthians 6:14
God is only a Father to those who have truly separated themselves from everything He has declared to be unclean. We must be diligent enough to keep ourselves, not minding what the world says. We must steer clear of all pressures that might come from the world system (Hebrew 3:1).
2 Corinthians 7:1
Everything about our lives is hinged on holiness. It is important we put our thoughts in check at all times and purify them from every form of filthiness.
Revelation 20:6
The only set of people who have power over the second death are those that lived holy. Living on earth for a very long time is nothing but a waste without holiness. Holiness is not just about the outward look or dressing, it encompasses everything about our daily living: the way we communicate and relate with people.
