Harvesting The Nations (Day II Session 1)

MATTHEW 24:14(KJV): “14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”;

There are certain disciplines that we cannot afford to neglect as believers. If we ignore them, we will become people of mere knowledge. For instance, we will not all be evangelists but we are expected to do the work of an evangelist. We cannot lay hold of the nations if we are not ready to take risks. The nations are run based on the principle of personal aggrandizement such that they can always have what they want. They are not interested in fellowshipping with the Father. The fundamental challenge we will have in harvesting the nations is the problem of ‘bread and butter’ as they are basically disposed to having their needs met. If we must reach the nations effectively, we have to deal with their mentality giving them new paradigms.

The Gospel of the Kingdom is about the King, His Authority and His Domain. Many have known Jesus as Saviour but not as Lord. We have to submit to His Lordship as people who have no rights. We have to understand that the fact that we are subjected to God’s Sovereign Will does not mean that we will get the kind of result that people expect of us. However, it is guaranteed that we will take the nations. The heroes of faith gave up their rights in order to challenge the world system around them. In the same way, we cannot harvest the nations if we are not sold out to God’s Sovereign Will. There is a sovereign mandate on us to harvest the nations and we have to change our attitude toward that mandate.
