Going unto perfection implies we are not yet there therefore we must keep striving. The striving is not of man; it is by grace and therefore there is need to be strong in grace as Paul admonished Timothy to be strong in grace. Grace does not work in sin.

The fundamental principles of the New Testament are based on Old Testament principles that need to be taught for us to come to God. These principles are to be taught again and again because they can easily slip away from us. Jesus is God’s heavenly gift to us which we must always embrace.

Faith towards God, Baptisms, Laying on of hands, Resurrection of the Dead and Eternal Judgment are some elementary principles of the doctrine of God which we must all be grounded in. We cannot afford to gloss over them and hope to go unto perfection.

We must have faith in God to advance in life. Baptism is a kind of covenant, it is immersion into different kinds of knowledge. What we are baptized into defines the course of our lives.

The idea of resurrection caused a lot of problems for Paul, that shows that it is a very serious issue. Man has no hope if there is no resurrection. Eternal judgment is fundamental. Every man will be judged eternally based on his operations.

We taste the good word of God by taking His promises and applying them. We taste God by capitalizing on His promises. His words are yea and men. When we enjoy the benefits of God’s word and promises, we cannot afford to turn against Him.

Having tasted the good word of God and the power of the world to come, we cannot afford to turn back. The powers of the age to come are operations of God that He releases in form of miracles, signs and wonders. Some of these powers are yet to be released. If the environmental factors for a soil to produce are right and it does not produce fruit, it will be cursed and so is our life a soil too that is supposed to produce fruit according to the investment of God in our lives.

There are things we must learn to do because of God not because of people. God will never forget our labour of love. There are things we need to learn to do because of the love of God.

Every aspect of our lives need to come to perfection; no part must be left out. We need to be diligent and not slothful in our going unto perfection.
