The Scripture is filled with parables about the kingdom. This so that we can know what are the expectations of the king from the citizens of His kingdom. It is expected of the members of the kingdom to be faithful. God will never commit the true riches of the kingdom into the hands of people who are unfaithful.
We must understand that true riches are not about money, rather they are connected to the authority of the kingdom. There are people in the Bible who were not politically positioned yet governed kingdoms because they had authority. An example of such people with authority is Elijah who governed three kingdoms.
Ezekiel 28:1, 12ff – The riches of the kingdom is veiled to the people of the world because they have not understood the mystery of sin and death. This understanding is what gives us an edge over them. The Holy Ghost is the one who controls the riches of God and He gives freely to as many as are eligible.
Lucifer designed the world in a way that men will be after what they will eat, drink and wear but the riches of the kingdom is beyond all of these. We live in a system that is hostile to our king but we have to occupy till He comes. It will be foolish of us to make friends with the enemies of our king. Like the parable of the talents, we need wisdom to trade in the world system and not be swayed.
There is a future that is assured for us and there is a principle we must follow which is different from that which Lucifer established. We must do all to acquire the riches of heaven and ensure we do not lose it.
