Matthew 17:1 – The essence of human life is the pursuit of glory. True glory is given by God Himself and He is the only one who can bring glory to our lives. There is no description fit enough in the scriptures to appropriate glory.
There is no semblance of the glory that God gives on the earth. It is doom for any man to appropriate glory to himself; God deserves all glory. God owns it, not any man, and we are to acknowledge Him always.
There is a sort of glory we have seen in the earthly realm but nothing compares with the glory that we have through our relationship with God. Our glory is not to be measured in terms of material possessions but in terms of the influence we have as children of God on the earth. We have power with God and can prevail over nations, communities, situations and circumstances (Genesis 32: 24-25).
In the world system, the riches of the earth bring men into glory but in the kingdom sphere, the glory of the kingdom introduces men to the riches of the earth (Acts 3:1-10). This glory comes by the knowledge of God (2 Peter 1: 3). It is knowledge that delivers the riches of His glory to us. It is thus imperative for us to renew our minds daily through the word of God, this will bring us into the reality of our faith.
