GENESIS 1:2(KJV): “2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
Initially, God created an earth that was with form but along the line something happened that made the earth to be without form and void. God had to evaluate the situation and he began to speak such that there was a change. He did not accept the emptiness on earth. Quite a number of us find ourselves in some unpleasant situations and we are often lost for what to do. Many people resign to fate when they get overwhelmed with the vicissitudes of life. When a man loses hope, he begins to die. We have to keep hope alive and do something about the future.
We shouldn’t do things haphazardly, we have to take deliberate actions. The world’s system is not designed to work out things for us, it is designed for us to start something and make a difference. We have to consciously plan and prepare for the future so that when we arrive there, we will not be disappointed. Thank God for miracles. However, many things in life don’t come by miracles, they come by careful planning. The spirit of God is always available for us to access. We need to put our houses together and exercise dominion over creation with His help.
GENESIS 1:28(KJV): “28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”;
ECCLESIASTES 11:4(KJV): “4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.”;
PROVERBS 26:13(KJV): “13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.”
God blessed Adam and Eve and gave them instructions, not suggestions, to be fruitful, multiply, replenish and subdue the earth. God has given us authority; it is our duty to exercise that authority. It takes a lot of effort to set things in order. Some people always have excuses, always looking for the best time and never finding the right time to work or invest. They always have excuses why things won’t work. There are oppositions from the prince of the power of the air and we have to stand our grounds in God to enforce God’s will for our lives. There are no rooms for excuses. We don’t have to observe the wind, all we have to do is get out and sow. Poverty is basically the result of an unplanned life. Prosperity is hardly accidental, it is a product of deliberate actions.
HOSEA 10:12(KJV): “12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”;
GENESIS 26:1(KJV): “And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.”
What will you invest and sow to yourself that will prepare you for future? Investing in our lives matter a lot. God will provide opportunities (seeds) but we must be on the field to work. Even if there are lions in the streets, there are people out there who have not died. Excuses will get us nowhere. There are chances that you will fail when you embark on any ventures. In the same way, there are chances that you will succeed. We have to keep breaking up our fallow grounds and sowing until the rain comes and we reap ample rewards. Isaac got an instruction from God in the time of famine not to go down into Egypt but to stay in the land where he was and sow. He acted by actually sowing. Interestingly, he reaped optimum harvest even in the time of drought.
