Confidence

One thing we need in this life is a large measure of confidence but sadly many of us do not have it.
Hebrews 10:35,36
God’s promises cannot fail. One of the major challenges we have is that we don’t care to recollect the promises that God made to us. We don’t pay attention to them when we come under pressure.
Having been promised a son, Sarah still got to a state of complete deadness. Naturally speaking, she could no longer birth a child because her body was no longer fertile. At some point, she concluded that she could not bring forth the promise. So, she put forward her servant to take her place because she had already cast away her confidence.
Interestingly, God reinstated His promise in Sarah’s life. The Bible tells us that it was not the faith of Abraham that brought the promise to pass because Sarah later received strength for the promise by faith.
There is a reward for trusting God, so do not cast away your confidence. God is looking for an opportunity to boast over your life. He is trying to find who He can use to show the world the things He can do. We must do our part and leave Him to do His. Our own responsibility is to be steady in following Him.
When David confronted Goliath, he knew he was going to win. He believed he would take Goliath’s head off because of His confidence in God and in himself. In fact, the Bible says that when Goliath advanced, David ran towards him because he was not afraid.
It is not enough to have confidence in God; we must also have confidence in ourselves that we can do all things through Him. We should be able to believe that our faith can produce results. You cannot generate faith when you do not have confidence in yourself. If we can believe that we can do something, Jesus will strengthen us.
God is not limited by where we start off in life; it has never been a disadvantage to Him. He will help us but He will need us to have confidence in ourselves too.
When we pray to God in the closet, we must walk as if we have what we asked for already. Our confession should be in tandem with what we have believed God for and we should not be afraid to declare it.
We need to know that we cannot afford to fail in the battles of life. God is capable of bringing to pass what we have ever believed Him for.
