The Believers’ Commission (Day III)

EVANGELIST SOLA OKI

MARK 5:19-20(KJV): ” Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. 20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.” ;

[biblegateway passage=”LUKE 8:22-39″ display=”LUKE 8:22-39″];

Jesus and His disciples decided to go over to the country of the Gadarenes and they arrived there. God has given us grace to arrive at the point He has designated for us to get to despite all odds; in spite of the onslaught of the enemy. We can’t stay at one point for ever. The grace God gives is not limited to one side; there is always the need to go to the other side. Fear must not restrict us to one side. On arrival in the country of the Gadarenes, Jesus encountered a nameless mad man who had devils (not one; even one is bad enough). He was so tormented that he had lost his identity to demons. The man had been in bondage for a long time, he was naked and he stayed in the tombs. As we go into the nations, we should not always expect presidential treatment.

The best job is the job of a harvester; it is to be a soul winner. The grace God has endowed us with can cast out devils effortlessly. Demons trembled at the presence of Jesus. We have no business playing with demons because they are subject to us in Jesus’ name. All we need do is cast them out! After being healed, the mad man opted to follow Jesus but Jesus sent him back to His people and he began to witness of the power of God throughout the whole city. He went to ten towns and published the gospel. We must never leave people the same way we meet them. If we meet them as sinners, we must leave them saved. If we meet them possessed with demons, we must leave them delivered. If we meet them sick, we must leave them healed. Jesus met the man demon-possessed but left him an evangelist.

We cannot harvest the nations if we are not full of the Holy Ghost. The anointing of the Holy Ghost does not come to push us down. The Holy Ghost is to make us rise under the anointing. The anointing is meant to mobilize and set us in motion. The anointing does not discriminate between male and female because the Holy Spirit is one ([biblegateway passage=”John 7:37-39″ display=”John 7:37-39″];[biblegateway passage=” Acts 2:4″ display=”Acts 2:4″]). We cannot afford to waste the weighty glory of God upon our lives. When we come across demons, we must not allow the Devil tell us we have not prayed or fasted enough. All we need do is swing into action and demonstrate God’s power.
