Text: Ephesians 5:18, Zechariah 4:6
Minister: Pastor Joshua Akinsusi
It is a direct instruction for us to be filled with the Spirit and we have to do it consciously (Act 4:31). To do anything acceptable for the Kingdom, we must be filled with the Holy Spirit. There is a need to be continually filled; we should not stop at the initial infilling. To be filled with the Spirit means to be controlled, to be stimulated by the Him (Act 2:2). Any believer who has not been filled is missing out. There are diverse experiences of being filled.
From Act Chapters 2 & 4, we can see examples of people who were filled with the Holy Ghost. Chapter 4 verse 8 shows to us the importance of being filled continually in the Holy Ghost. We can also see from the book of Act 6:5 and 7:55 how Stephen was full with the Holy Ghost, the same as Barnabas in Act 11:24. From Act 13:9, we saw how Paul could preach boldly because he was full of the Holy Ghost.
There are a lot of Spiritual issues we will not be able to handle nor touch until we are filled. The expectation of God as we are committed to the studying of the scripture is to be filled with the Holy Ghost.
