Minister: Pastor Oluwaseyi Osanyinbi

The paradox of the Christian life is that we are so many things at the same time. We need the wisdom to know how to manifest at every given time.
We must know that we are all important in the kingdom of God and there is only one General and Commander-in-Chief, Jesus Christ. While there is a hierarchy in the kingdom, we must be able to discern the ministry gift that is required at every point in time.
Ephesians 6:18-24
The shield of faith, the breastplate of righteousness, and the helmet of salvation are all important as they represent different promises in the Scripture.
Knowing how to watch and pray is very important to our Christian walk. We must be able to pray outside of our corporate gatherings. Satan is constantly engaged in warfare against us. We must have situational awareness knowing what is happening around us all the time.
There is a thin line between watching and meddling in other people’s affairs. We watch with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints; even when we feel like we want to mind our business, this is important.
In verse 21 of Ephesians 6, we learn that Tychicus was one man who fought spiritual warfare. He was not just a brother; he was a beloved one. He was one of those who triggered a positive response in the heart of Paul. You must do something to make yourself highly beloved. Can people recollect your name and smile? To walk in love is warfare on its own. We need soldiers who can fight this kind of battle. The Bible also records that Tychicus was a faithful minister.

Jesus is looking for men who can pray for their enemies because evil cannot be overcome with evil but by good; this is one of the things Jesus taught and this is warfare.
Faithfulness is one of the requirements God is looking for in His soldiers. Many of us like to be in everybody’s good books but we must know how to say no with grace. In 2 Corinthians 4:2, Apostle Paul said we have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty. This is a virtue we must covet earnestly in order to have a place with God.
Acts of Apostle 20:4 tells us about Paul’s companions of which Tychicus was part. They were men that continued God’s work and they were responsible for raising many people even after Apostle Paul passed.
1 Timothy 6:12.
We must know what the good fight of faith entails. For example, defending men of God who have done something wrong because they are men of God is not a good fight of faith. The good fight of faith is tied to eternal life.
We should know that we cannot be good soldiers if we are afraid of the things that men fear. Friendship and alignment with the world is enmity with God.
2 Corinthians 6:17,18.
God will only be our father if we obey the Scripture. We must learn how to handle shame and stand strong in the face of opposition. There is a force called love that can confront evil. It is a strong force that nothing surmounts.
As soldiers of Christ, we need to embrace the principles of the scriptures to do battle so that we can make our calling sure.
