Priesthood

19TH JUNE, 2022

Minister: Pastor Seyi Osanyinbi

There are so many aspects of prayer that require in-depth teaching. Prayer allows God’s intervention and strength to come through for us. Although God is sovereign, His sovereignty will never override men’s will. Therefore, we must be mindful of how we open portals for God’s intervention in our human condition.
We must always approach God in the name of Jesus because all we need to access His power was completed and delivered to mankind through Jesus. To access God, we must understand what it means to come before Him.
It is important to know that no one can summon spirits into the earthly realm without being a priest. This is why we must appreciate the fact that we are priests. Our priesthood enables us to activate the intervention of the Spirit of God in our earthly situations.
Hebrews 12:18-25
In the Old Testament, God invited the whole nation of Israel to meet Him at Mount Sinai. They rejected this summon when they saw fearful things on the mountain and this is why they got cut off from being a nation of priests.
A priest must be well grounded in judgment. As Christians, we must understand that we are not ordinary. When stepping into God’s presence, we must understand that we come before Him as priests. As such, we are expected to be clothed in righteousness for we cannot enter into His presence with filthiness.
In the realm of the Spirit, our place of fellowship is Mount Zion because that is the abode of God. To fellowship with Him there, we must understand the necessary principles and protocols.
Hebrews 12:23
As priests, we need to always appear before God as advocates because He is seated as a Judge in the courts of heaven. We must be skillful in marshaling our arguments before Him.
Hebrews 2:9; 8:1-3
The first revelation about the priesthood of God is that He is going to bring many sons unto Glory. Jesus, the High Priest, has delivered us from the power of sin and death and in approaching the throne as a priest, we must understand judgment. Our High Priest understands judgment; this is what qualifies Him to sit on the throne.
As New Testament people, we are expected to be priests and kings. So, it is important to know when we are to function as priests and when we are supposed to operate as kings. When we come before God as priests, we come to ask for permission, resources and things needed to deliver right judgment on earth. When we appear on earth, we are expected to be kings delivering judgment because the authority to do that has been given to us.
As priests, we must learn and be skillful in the different dimensions of the operations of the mysteries of God. We must totally depend on the Holy Spirit. When we are faced with difficult situations, it is wise to first ask for direction from the Holy Spirit before approaching the throne of God with relevant arguments.
The Holy Spirit knows the mind of the Father at all times; He alone can directly guide us in approaching the Father. So, we must cultivate the habit of total dependence on Him.
