MINISTER: PASTOR SEYI OSANYINBI
From the day God created the earth, He decreed that seasons will govern us. Genesis 1:14-15. Seasons are given and cannot be altered. However, there are also parallel seasons that run through the earth regulating the lives of men. These are called dispensations and they are times that we need to be careful about: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to sow and a time to harvest, etc (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8).
Every man will go through these time boundaries, especially the time between our birth and exit. What we do with our lives is thus very important and we need to pay attention to it.
Whatever season you find yourself in, there is a constant instruction of obeying and keeping God’s commandments. We need to learn to seek the particular time and season that we are in per time (Ecclesiastes 8:5-6).
A wise man’s heart discerns the times and seasons. The essence of teaching is basically to raise men that will be able to know and understand the movement of God. When we do not understand the time we are in and maximize each season, we tend to suffer unnecessarily.
Men will always seek to know or understand certain things about their journey and this has made many to seek for help where they are not supposed to. This is why we have a kind of faulty church system that focuses more on God’s blessings rather than walking in His will.
Israel spent years camping round without movement. They probably did not have any idea of how God moved then, but Moses knew. In our dispensation however, we are privileged to see and know when God moves just like the sons of Issachar who knew their times and seasons.
May we know our kairos moments. We are children of Zion who are entitled to know the times and seasons of our lives. Whatever it is we wanted to do has its own time. We must seek the face of God to understand better. If we know the times and can understand judgements, we will be very successful.
We need the leading of the Spirit too. We have to let God lead us. Israel did not know their times of visitation and that caused a delay in their journey. God is the One who leads us besides the still waters for His name sake. If we go by His Spirit, we will do well in life.
Job 38: 32
There are certain things we cannot bring forth and certain things we cannot birth. They are beyond our abilities. We are incapacitated as mortals. We are creatures of need. That is why we must always seek God in our journey and seek to have Him by our side. We cannot help ourselves so we need God to help us. It is not a matter of self-confidence but that of total dependence on God.
We will never amount to anything outside of God. We need the judgment of the Holy Ghost to be able to know our times and seasons. The Scripture makes us understand that doing things without God will amount to nothing. It’s not about activities but about God’s commandments.
