Luke 4:1-6 – Man was born with glory but he lost it to the devil when he misused it. Although glory does not originally belong to Satan, man lost it to him and it became his exclusive property. Since man was designed for glory, he was so eager to have it back again after he lost it. Thankfully, Jesus came and restored the glory back to God.
Glory is so desired by the soul of every man that we all seek it and want to live for it. There are different ways by which people get their glory but God is the only legal means by which we can have it.
Before a man begins to ask that the weight of glory be placed upon him, he must have submitted himself to be purged, trained and disciplined. Without appropriate purging and pruning, the weight of glory can destroy a man. Therefore, you have to consciously submit yourself to be pruned and made fit to carry the glory of God.
2 Corinthians 4:6 – Glory is always latent in an earthen vessel. Any manifestation of darkness noticed in a man’s life is a journey to destruction and a hindrance to the manifestation of God’s glory. In Daniel 4:31, glory departed because the king did not acknowledge God as sovereign.
Glory is not meant for the feeble or light hearted souls; it is meant for consistent people. Therefore, God is working on every man to ensure he is fit for His glory. The delay of the manifestation of glory in many believers’ lives is so that God can finish the work of pruning them, else they will be destroyed.
Glory talks about power and influence, God’s glory is the legitimate type of glory and it endures forever. We must understand that glory can be lost, hence, men must learn to sustain it. The ark of covenant was powerful because it conveyed the presence of God. Glory (Heb. Chabod) is the manifest presence of God in the life of an individual.
There is a glory that earthly riches can give but the glory that comes from God and his kingdom is one without corruption.
1 Corinthians 3:18 – What sustains our glory is our capacity to build and sustain fellowship with Christ. Therefore, our reason for going into the presence of the Lord should not be only to make requests but to enjoy fellowship with him; we must be committed to developing our fellowship with God.
