The Power of God is a subject we cannot exhaust. We need the power of God in every area of our lives; our work, marriage, businesses and so on. The power of God in a man is a source of strength. Therefore, a man who possesses the power of God is strong. One of the ways we make our calling and election sure is by standing strong. Caleb is an example of a man who had strength through the power of God. Though truly called, every man in Christ needs the power of God to function appropriately in our calling.
We need the power of God because Satan is always there to fight us. However, by the power of God we are strengthened and can stand against the devil and resist him. Though he comes at us with his diverse schemes and tricks, we remain standing and nothing the devil does can shift us. By the power of God, we are able to resist every wile of the devil. Satan works on the mind of people, playing pranks with them and it is only those who are strong in the Lord that will be able to wrestle and withstand the enemy.
If we will remain strong in the Lord and will be able to resist the enemy by the power of the Lord, we must abide in the Lord (John 15:1). When we abide in Christ, He is always there to assist us. When we remain in Him, He gets the chance to prune us and by His pruning we are made better and we become stronger.
1 Peter 5:8-10, James 4:7,8
There is no way you can resist the devil without submitting yourself to the Lord. As you submit yourself to God, you are empowered to win spiritual warfare. We need to be vigilant, sober and humble if we will remain strong and conquer the enemy. All the armor mentioned in Ephesians 6:10-17 are very essential for us to stand strong in the Lord.
You also need the word of God in you if you will stand strong. The word is the source of strength. There is no power beyond the power of the Lord and there is no strength beyond the strength of the Lord.
