Title: God’s Pattern

Text: Exodus 25:1-9

Minister: Pastor Seyi Osanyinbi

From the beginning, we see that God is a person of patterns; He is deliberate about whatever he does. In 1 Corinthians 3:10, the word ‘master builder’ depicts the combination of the works of an architect and a builder. Everything God created follows a pattern; He is precise in all things.

Everything about God has a pattern; He has a pattern for our lives, marriages and other things. It is expedient we all know and work by our God-given patterns.  When we copy others in building our lives, we will easily run into trouble.

Mathew 5:13-16

The whole of Mathew chapter 5 to chapter 7 talks about foundational Christian patterns. If you have been building without recourse to pattern, you must be willing to pull down and start all over again. This act of repentance is non-negotiable.  Mathew 5:16 explicitly shows the pattern for each of us as Christians. We must seek to get better every day, knowing that every morning is an opportunity to build our lives in accordance with divine pattern. God’s pattern for our lives require that we season the earth as salt and light up the world.

1 Timothy 1:16

The problem with many Christians is that they want to pattern their lives in accordance with the world. This is a major challenge because the world’s pattern is totally against God’s pattern.

Just like the life of Paul, God can turn the life of many people into a pattern so as to be a message to others. Do not take yourself for granted; do not behave as if so much has not been deposited in you; there are so many lives that can only be touched by you.

Titus 2:1-10

Your life must be consistent with what you say, otherwise, you will become an hypocrite. If you do not live your life according to the given pattern, you will be pulled down.

In the Church, we need men and women that can become patterns. Older women are needed to teach young women to be loving sisters, wives and mothers. Older men are expected to be patterns of integrity and inspiring leadership.

God wants us all to be patterns of good works in all sobriety. He expects us to be serious, sensible and solemn in all things. We need to be light of the world with impeccable character. If we do not build our lives according to God’s patterns, we are inviting destruction.
