Preacher: Dcn Paul Olotu
Power is an attribute of the Kingdom of God and every man that is enlisted as a member of the Kingdom has the right to possess the power. God expects that Christians express the power of His Kingdom everywhere they are. He expects that we raise the standard of God higher than the world’s standard. The failure of Christians to express the power of the Kingdom is equivalent to a wrong representation of God on earth.
As evident in Acts 19:11-16, the expression of the power of the Kingdom can make one popular and relevant even here on earth. It, however, should be established in our hearts that God is the one who works these things in us. In essence, the expression of power is not for fame, rather it is for God to be glorified as He finds expression in us.
In Job 28:7-11, we see the expression of God’s power in nature. We can relate with Kingdom power as it finds expression through us and in other things around us. However, we must see that we follow the manner of expression of the power as approved by God. Until we allow our egoistic personalities fall to the ground and die, we will not be able to manifest God’s power (John 12:26).
