Like spiritual gifts, so is the Ministry gifts. No one comes to any of the offices of the ministry gifts without the Holy Ghost. The baptismal of the Holy Ghost in that person makes him effective minister. The difference between Paul and Nicodemus was the Holy Spirit. Nicodemus was introduced as a ruler in the synagogue which means he must have known the laws of Moses. Paul of Tarsus was also a man with knowledge of the law, yet without knowing the programme of God, until the Holy Spirit came upon him and he became able minister of the New Testament.
Acts 2:17-20
We see the progressive growth of the Holy Ghost in the life of a believer as a result of constant use. It is the promise of the father and is important that we all have it. 1 Corinthians 12:1-2, 7 – Dumb idols take us into a negative spiritual realm of knowing future, seeking deliverance and healings, like the king Saul sought for future from the witch of Endom. Initially, the first Adam was a prophet. He did not need a priesthood ephod to know some things because he had a relationship with God. However, after his fall, man lost the capacity to switch into the spirit realm but sought it through dump idols. For us to have a better grasp of the things that are freely given to us, we are given the gifts of the Holy Spirit so as to enjoy without paying access, without paying a dime. The cross is a blessing, it transports us from the natural realm to the spiritual and brings the gifts to us.
There is a difference between the gifts of the Spirit and the manifestation of the gifts. The manifestation is the showing forth i.e. the evidence of the presence of the gifts. The spiritual gift is into three classes: utterance gifts, power gifts and revelation gifts. Each group contains three gifts which make nine gifts altogether. The Spiritual gift is a vocation that requires diligence. Philippians 3:14 – To experience the manifestation of these spiritual gifts you must keep pressing with the motive to profit the body. The gifts are for salvation and deliverance and your interaction with the word of God determines which and how you operate them.
The power gifts: The power gifts consist of gifts of faith, working of miracles and gifts of healing. Faith is the ingredient for all the power gifts. The faith for healing is the gospel faith, the faith towards God. It requires trustworthiness else you become a false minister. It also requires the operation of wisdom. You cannot acquire gospel faith if you have not carefully read the four gospel books of the bible and Acts of Apostles. Essentially, faith towards God is required for the gift of healing. These gifts work on the field of evangelism.
The revelation gifts: There are a lot of differences between the word of wisdom and the spirit of wisdom. It is a spontaneous response to a situation which has the potential of putting the Body, or individuals in danger. It is an application of a solution that is needed urgently. 2 Samuel 4, John 1:48 –The word of knowledge and wisdom are quite related. They can come as a future thing or an operation of now. Luke 1:35 – Being wise-hearted is not the same thing as word of wisdom. It has nothing to do with your qualification. Discerning of Spirit is not the same as discernment of natural endowments through experiences and knowledge. The gift basically discerns spirits and helps to truly judge the word of wisdom and word of knowledge. These gifts enable us to come into godly character.
The utterance gifts: Prophecy is one of the utterance gifts. All of us can be prophetic but all of us are not prophets. The office of a prophet comes with age and knowledge but the prophetic is what the Holy Spirit can give to anybody. It is just to know what lies ahead of you or for someone else. Every one of us should be prophetic because it is the desire of God that we be.
