LUKE 1:35: “ 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”,
ACTS 1:8: “8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.“;
ACTS 10:38: ” 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.“
Beyond words, we must be a people who understand the coming and overshadowing of the Holy Ghost. There are different effects of the Holy Ghost coming upon and the overshadowing of His power in the scriptures. The coming of the Holy Spirit has multiple and diverse effect. The coming upon of the Holy Ghost and the overshadowing of His power is multipurpose. It has multiple effects.
Many of God’s purposes for our lives will not come to be until we have new dimensions of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Many of God’s purposes for our lives will only be made known when we have a fresh unction of the Holy Ghost. We really need the power of the Holy Ghost in our lives. There are certain things we can’t push in our lives without force. We must learn to wait. One of the reasons why we do not get much of God is that we are too calculating and always in a hurry. For us to touch certain realms of God, we must wait on Him so that we may be able to give birth to some things in Him. Personally, we must learn to wait on God because there are things in the scripture if we do not go through the protocol of waiting, we will render them void. We must learn to wait if we want to come to certain realities of the Holy Ghost. To give birth to things in God, you must wait. Every seed has its own gestation period.
There are dimensions in God that we need wait patiently for the gestation period to be completed for us to see them. Communion with the Holy Ghost requires waiting. Receiving instructions from the Holy Ghost requires learning to wait. Many of our instructions are not complete because we don’t wait. If you wait enough, the frequency will become clearer. Understanding the Holy Ghost requires waiting. We must have a personal place in God where we can commune with Him.
JOHN 4:39-42: “39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. 40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his own word; 42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.“
The Samaritan woman reached out to several people in the city and these people went out to see Jesus. Afterwards, those people testified that they believed in Jesus not just because the woman told them about Him but because they had direct contact with Him. We must not only have revelation. It is more important to have a place of intimacy with the Holy Ghost. There are specific destinies that each and every one of us should come into. Jesus, after dishing out His parables, often told the listeners to hear if they had ears. This implies that the real hearing comes after the message.
