PASTOR SEYI OSANYINBI:
When Adam fell, men began to live their lives without God. Man can leave the presence of God as we see in the case of Cain. We have a choice to live our lives the way we want or we can ask God for direction. It is common not to find adult men in Church because they have not come to the place of trusting God for sustenance. They would rather send their wives and children to church to fulfil all righteousness.
ISAIAH 30:5,7
Man does not have the nature of standing still. He would rather be active looking for a way out for himself. Counting on our connections with people is not bad but making it our default position is dangerous. Immediately the Israelites ran into trouble they ran to the Egyptians for help. God declared that action as woeful.
ISAIAH 31:1-2
When a man backslides, he is said to ‘go down’. It is alluring to always go to Egypt for help. Knowing people or being connected to people is not bad but we must come to the place of acknowledging God first in all our ways. We must trust God, always knowing that whatever He allows in our lives is for our good. He is always able to help us. We can lift our heads to the hills but we have to understand that our help only comes from God. Even at the point of death, our focus should be on God. Whenever we run into problems, our first port of call should be God. If God be for us, who can be against us? If God be against us, who can be for us? It is grave not to be on the same page with God. In fact, it is deadly to be against Him.
MALACHI 1:6
If it is natural for us to respect our earthly fathers, it should also be normal for us to revere God in all our ways. It should be natural for us to acknowledge God. We must always be encouraged that God is our Present Help in every situation. If a man fears God, it will be evident in his day to day responses to his circumstances.
