PASTOR OLUWASEYI OSANYINBI:
PROVERBS 30:24-28
“There be four [things which are] little upon the earth, but they [are] exceeding wise: The ants [are] a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; The conies [are but] a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.”(KJV)
If you are going to be very effective in your spiritual life you have to learn the power of observation. We need to pay attention. God has given us the privilege to learn from everything He has created. The whole of Creation was put in place to teach certain things of God. Jesus is the first born of every creation. The characteristics of these creations speak about Christ.
+Ants have foresight (they prepare their food in summer). We believers don’t understand timing. We should be able to discern the time of the spirit, we should have capacity to plan. If we don’t have these things, our ability will be limited. God desires that the Holy Spirit within us will guide us, we shouldn’t depend on external sources. Most Christians do not have foresight because they do not wait on the Holy Spirit. It is to our benefit if we use our time wisely, the greatest challenges of this present day are distractions.
Conies or rock badgers are feeble. However, they manage to hide in rocks, they make the rocks their homes. We believers are vulnerable, the rock in which we can hide is Jesus Christ. If we don’t go there we will be crushed by predators. Our only protection is the Rock (Jesus).
Locusts have no king to give them direction. Many of us cannot do anything until we are told to do so, we lack initiative but the locust are not that way, they have no leader but they invade like an army regiment. As believers, we should have a chain of command even if there is no visible leader. We have the Holy Ghost who is the Holy Unction that is always ready to teach us the way to go.
Spiders and lizards are easy to catch yet they sneak past vigilant guards into highly fortified king’s palaces.
Matthew 10:16
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”(KJV)
+We are surrounded by wolves all around, this is why we have to be wise as the serpent. Jesus is the first serpent. He was so wise that he knew when to fight and when to refrain. Serpents don’t cause trouble, they only attack when there is no escape route. Another wisdom we need to take on the wolves around us is to be gentle as the dove. To be so gentle is to not always show off our full capacity. Jesus could always call down fire to finish his antagonists but he never did that. We should know how far our faith can take us, there is a need for us assess things before we step out to take action. We must learn to visit our closets to iron things out before acting.
