PASTOR SEYI OSANYINBI:
HEBREW 8:1-6
“Now of the things which we have spoken [this is] the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore [it is] of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, [that] thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”(KJV)
Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant which was established upon better promises, that is, the New Testament. We cannot live our lives on the strength of the Old Testament. It is too weak to sustain us, although it was so powerful that it could deal with death and bring about some dimensions of the supernatural. The New Testament is based on better promises and it is more potent than the Old Testament. Every covenant must be sealed with blood. The blood itself is a personality. Thankfully, the blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel.
1 JOHN 1:5-7; Hebrew 12:22,23; PSALM 24:3-5
“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”(1 John 1:5-7, KJV)
“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,”(Hebrews 12:22,23, KJV)
“Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.”(Psalm 24:3-5, KJV)
The blood is for the cleansing of sin. It removes the sin nature of the soul. When you come to Zion, you come to meet God as the Judge of All. Every testament is encoded in blood. The Old Testament was based on the blood of animals while the New Testament is based on the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus makes us pure and clean so that we can stand before God. There’s a blessing that can only be obtained from the judge of the earth. It’s the blessing of lifting and it only comes through the blood of Jesus. When a man begins to walk in the light, the blood of Jesus cleanses him.
2 CORINTHIANS 7:1, ACTS 1:4
“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”(2 Corinthians 7:1, KJV)
“And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he], ye have heard of me.”(Acts 1:4, KJV)
You cannot take the word ‘holiness’ away from the Bible. Holiness can appear both in the flesh and the Spirit. It is an integral component of the New Testament. We have to remove filthiness from our lives so that we can perfect holiness in the fear of God. When you perfect holiness, you will reign with God. We have so many promises of God in the New Testament. One of it is the promise of the Holy Spirit. The best gift we can ever get is the Holy Spirit. He helps us to live the life God has called us to. The Holy Spirit has access to everything that is our inheritance in God. If we can’t appreciate what was given to us, we will abuse it. Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law, not the responsibilities of the law. Redemption from the curse is necessary so that the blessings of God might come on the gentiles through Christ. Access to the blessings of Abraham is access to the promise of the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is the carrier of everything that God has for us. You cannot access some things that God has given you if you don’t have His Spirit.
GALATIANS 3:13-14
“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”(KJV)
What made Abraham mighty was the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Ultimate Blessing. When you acquire eternal life, you automatically seat with the Godhead. Mortals cannot seat on that throne. We have been given the Holy Spirit so that eternal life can be imparted unto us. The promise of the Holy Spirit is to bring us into Eternal Life. This life will bring us to sit on the throne with God so that the Church will be the fourth member of the Godhead. We are in a warfare of thrones and we cannot attain the promise and sit with God if we don’t walk with the Holy Spirit.
