HEARING GOD
Many a time, we hear but we do not learn. Our profession is not to preach, it is to become like Christ. We need to get to a point where our lives portray Christ so much that people want to follow Him.
There are certain things that pertain to a local church and they must be addressed so that things can be put right. Sometimes, we can get so much caught up with the issues of the global church that we miss the workings of God in the local church.
If you carry the Spirit of God, He will always communicate with you. If it looks like God is not speaking, the problem is that you are just not decoding what he is saying.
God will not lead you beyond your level. Your growth levels determines the level at which God can lead you.
PSALM 139:17-19; ISAIAH 55:8
We must all understand how to hear God. We should be able to differentiate the voice of God from that of the Devil. The most fundamental way by which God leads a Christian is by the inner witness. When a man is born again, he has the Holy Spirit in a measure. This can be likened to measure of faith.
God’s thoughts for us, about us are not for fun. He wants to convey His thoughts about us to us so that we can know the way to go. To understand God’s thoughts, we have to get into the scriptures big time.
We have to pay attention to our thoughts because God will often communicate with us in the place of our thoughts. Since God’s thoughts are not our thoughts we always have to be ready to have His thoughts replace our thoughts. We have to work at hatching God’s thoughts for our lives.
HOSEA 12:10
God can speak to us via similitudes. Similitude talks about parables or allegories. God can use light, patterns, numbers, colours, etc to pass His message across to us. It is disheartening to know that some believers do not hear God. It is established that the Lord speaks. We must be knowledgeable enough to always hear Him.
Hearing God is not Rocket Science, it is a fundamental right of every believer. We need to cooperate with God for free flow of communication. There is no expert at hearing God; we need to be connected to Him constantly so that we can know what He is saying. The two disciples on the road to Emmaus did not know they were interacting with the Risen Lord until later. We need grace to decipher God’s voice and leading so that we will be well guided in all things.
